ADA Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment
The Wood River Drainage and Levee District is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all residents, partners, and visitors, including individuals with disabilities. We are actively working to align our public-facing digital services with ADA Title II requirements and the State of Illinois accessibility frameworks.

Conformance Standard
Our goal is to ensure that all new, updated, and existing web content on wrleveedist.org complies with the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards ahead of the federal compliance deadline of April 26, 2028.

Known Limitations & Active Transition Plan
As a specialized technical district, we recognize that some of our legacy electronic records, historical board minutes, and complex engineering or flood plain maps may not yet be fully optimized for screen readers or keyboard-only navigation.

We are systematically addressing these items by:
1. Auditing our current document catalog using automated scanning tools.

2. Prioritizing remediation for high-traffic public files, upcoming board agendas, and emergency public safety updates.

3. Requiring all future digital assets and third-party vendor integrations to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards before publication.

Alternative Formats & Accommodation Requests
If you encounter a barrier on our website or require public records—such as levee engineering data or district maps—in an alternative accessible format (e.g., large print, read-aloud format, or digital text), please contact us directly:
